I posted this on the Jet Age MySpace page but, since this is vaguely Pete Townshend oriented, and I'm only here because of Pete Townshend, I thought I'd reiterate on this page.
I'm not comfortable with the way my interview with Pete's in-house tech, Lincoln Fong (a FANTASTIC engineer and producer) came out. I turned in a very long piece to TapeOp editor Larry Crane, who had to edit, but some of the changes are really jarring, like switching the tense of the last sentence of the intro.
I'm only mentioning this because, while I moonlight as a touring/recording musician and engineer, I'm a writer and editor by trade, and it pains me to see such a poorly constructed interview appear under my byline.
None of this is to say you shouldn't read the interview; the facts, from Lincoln's mouth, are still there. It's just that they're presented in a way that I didn't intend.
Finally, and off topic, who the hell is reading this blog? I see people do, but I don't know how y'all find it, or what prompts you to read it. Hopefully, I'm somewhat interesting.
Take care -E

Hello E-
You're not E from the Eels
are you?
Kidding ;)
The only way someone can read
your blog is if you put it out
there.No one's going to find a
blog without being lead there,
no way,no how.For example,a few
years ago I decided to test this
fact out by responding to alot
of people who posted comments
on Pete's blog and his girlfriend
Rachel Fuller's blog.Before I knew
it I was getting 20 or more comments per posting but I have
pretty much cut that down alot
as I got tired of feeling that
I had to keep responding back
time after time so these days
I post once every couple of months
and respond to only a handful
of people so now I only get about
3 to 8 comments. That's my doing for no longer putting myself
out there. You can get a hundred
comments or you can get 0,it's
all up to you.The internet is
quite limitless.I find that cool
and scary all at the sametime.
The reason I found you is because
you commented on Pete's blog.
Now,where is that interview
with Mr.Fong so I can read it?:)
Mike, I don't know how else to respond to you except via this board; the link to your name doesn't seem to work.
I'm not trying to put this blog out there. I blog at the band's MySpace page, and that's enough :)
As for the Lincoln interview, it's in the current issue of TapeOp; available at most book stores. I regret it's such a shitty read, and most of the Pete stuff has been cut.
I'm really not as cranky as I "sound." Thanks for writing -E
